Top of the O2 Arena: London

The former Millennium Dome on London’s North Greenwich Peninsula is now more commonly known as the O2 Arena. Home to some of the UK’s biggest concerts and events… and a giant climbing frame.

London Improv comedy group, Giggle Loop took to the sky with Up at the O2 and captured this little 360. Running is not allowed, so watch out for some fast walking, and enjoy that docklands view.

AMENITIES

The O2 Arena is rife with eating and entertainment options, from a bowling alley to cinema and exhibitions.

North Greenwich is accessible via the Jubilee Line on the tube and is well serviced by bus or car.

If you have more time in the area, check out Greenwich Ecology Park. This conservation project created a freshwater habit to return a part of the marshland to it’s pre-industrial landscape.

The Emirates Airline cablecar is also nearby. Some say it’s purely a tourist gimmick, but in busier rush hours, people have been reported to use it for actual travel purposes, to escape North Woolwich, presumably.

Japes aside, the views are great, and options for crossing the river are limited in this neck of the woods. The North bank is well served by the DLR and is home to the ExCel centre.
