Knole Park, Sevenoaks: Kent

Sevenoaks, Kent, TN15 0RP

This medieval deer park is home to Knole House, a national trust-owned stately home which has stood there since the early 1500s.

This short video is just a snapshot of the wide and varied park, consisting of wide, open spaces, hills and dense woodland.  I took the train down from Charing Cross in London one summer evening. There were a few other runners and walkers about but it was still incredibly peaceful. This video captures a few deer if you look closely. In the park you can see the herds up close (and the little fawns!)

In fact, I’m gutted my memory card was full when I reached the exit, because it was entirely blocked by dozens of deer. A completely delightful run and perfect for a family picnic.

If you’re taking your woofer, you’ll need to keep them on a lead on the park.

GETTING THERE & AMENITIES

If you’re walking from Sevenoaks station, it takes about 20 minutes, but you’ll pass through this lovely town which boasts several pubs, the usual chain eateries and the high-street.
